On December 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm, CT0114P - Darien Cub Scout Packs 55 & 56 will be helping Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.

In Memory Of for Kevin Adams, United States Military, Honored by Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery
Kevin Adams served in the US Marine Corp Reserves from 1965-1971, initially as an electrician apprentice. He completed his 3 month basic training done at Parris Island, South Carolina US Marine Corp Training Center., and then reported to Camp Gordon, GA for further training. He was appointed sergeant in 1969 and was appointed sergeant in 1969.Subsequently, Kevin Adams became a firefighter in the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) from 1973-2002, a job he loved. When the Bronx was burning in the 1970s, he was in the busiest firehouse in the country, Ladder 47, on Castle Hill Ave. He was awarded Certificates of Merit twice for heroism, in 1977 and 1979, for rescuing trapped children and an unconscious adult from burning buildings, respectively. He worked in the search and rescue efforts and clean-up at the World Trade Center following the September 11 attacks.He was the grandfather of two cub scouts of Pack 55/56, Dean and Nicholas Lawrence, and he passed away in December 2023.

There is plenty of parking at this cemetery, so feel free to park in any available spot.Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
